outreach ministries

We seek to act in response to Christ’s words,

“Whatever you do for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you do for me.”

Our ministries including gifts of time and service, such as volunteering as well as

giving gifts and resources of our congregation to minister to those in need.

We welcome new voices and new concerns; please consider joining us!

how we serve

  • Fairhope Christian Blessing Box

    blessing box

Fairhope Christian Church has installed a community blessing box stocked with non-perishable items such as rice, beans, cleaning supplies, baby items and toiletries. It is free and there is no signing up or waiting. It is open to all who feel a need. Our congregation realizes the importance and the need and in response support our “wagon Sundays,” where our youth gather up supplies to keep the blessing box stocked.

  • Ecumenical ministries - meals on wheels

We are happy to host Meals on Wheels at Fairhope Christian Church while Ecumenical Ministries in Fairhope is under construction. They are using our facilities as their daily base of operation, including for food storage, meal prep and cooking, planning, and distribution to volunteer drivers.

  • christian women's fellowship

Our Christian Women’s Fellowship is active in many areas of ministry. There are currently two circles meeting once a month. One circle meets the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am. The second circle meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm. Both circles seek to be doers in providing ministries that lift up our community such as gathering items for Ecumenical Ministries that families cannot purchase through their SNAP program, food drives, sponsoring water giveaways at community events, supporting the Shoulder, Light of the Village. They also provide meals during funerals, weddings or other milestone events.

  • christian men's fellowship

Our men meet the first Saturday of every month to share in fellowship and work on projects/ministries around the church and community. We also entertain guest speakers on a variety of topics in an effort to learn more about our community and the people who live in it.  We meet in the fellowship hall at 9:00 am and all men are welcome.

  • family promise

Fairhope Christian Church is part of the Family Promise program which helps families who have lost their home. Once a quarter, the church welcomes in families who are in the Family Promise program and provides them with a place to stay, food and fellowship. The families stay at the church for one week before moving on to another church or organization. We are blessed to be a part of this program which is a vital need in our community.

  • samaritan's purse operation christmas child

Each year, Fairhope Christian Church participates in Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry. We collect small items for boys and girls, fill the boxes, wrap them and then send to a distribution center where they are shipped around to world to children in need. This is a wonderful ministry that stretches across the globe to touch children who may not receive anything other than this small box of usable items and toys for Christmas. We call our local response, "Sally's Shoeboxes," in honor of a wonderful saint whose heart was in this ministry.

  • ged scholarship

Fairhope Christian Church has partnered with Coastal Community College to provide funds for qualified students to help offset the cost of their GED testing. We also help fund scholarships for students wishing to pursue higher education. This is a great ministry that helps these students take the next step in their educational pursuits or life ambitions.

  • path to peace

Path to Peace is a grassroots movement of a large number of churches on the Eastern Shore to come together and offer a response to the violence and racial discord that is affecting our communities. The church is seeking to provide concrete actions that will demonstrate our unity, our commitment and our love to each other and to God. Through dialogue, events, peaceful marches and a real getting to know one another, we hope to build a foundation of peace and unity that looks beyond race, creed, denomination and cultural contexts and sees each person as a valuable creation of our loving and devoted God. True unity comes from our belief and understanding that God is our creator, sustainer and redeemer.
