Plans are in the works for a youth movie night to take place on Sunday, February 17 starting at 3:30 pm. We will be showing “Angels in the Outfield.” Hot dogs as well as sausage dogs will be served with chips and a drink. We invite the youth of our community to come and watch this movie with us.
We are pleased to welcome our Family Promise families this week. This is a wonderful ministry where we get to interact with families who are seeking to better themselves and move into a house or apartment. We provide a place for them to sleep, breakfast and dinner and engage in fellowship. We are truly blessed to be a part of this ministry and we get more than we give.
Moving into the new year we will be focusing on prayer, both individual and corporate as we strive to learn more about God and God’s will for our lives. Stay tuned for opportunities to join us as we explore the power of prayer.
Our Christmas Eve service was filled with joy and hope as we retold the story of the birth of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We pray that all people take the lessons of Christmas with them throughout the entirety of their lives and we truly become a people of peace, joy, hope and love.
Fairhope Christian Church held its annual Longest Night service on Thursday, December 20. It was a time of remembrance of the loved ones we have lost as well as a celebration of the hope for all of our futures that rests in the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Our Christmas open house was on Sunday, December 9 and we had a good time sharing food and fellowship.
Our Christmas Cantata will be on Sunday, December 30 during our worship service. It will be a time to worship God and celebrate the birth of Jesus in song.
We are in the process of gathering our gifts for the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree and look forward to delivering them in the next couple of weeks. This is a wonderful ministry seeks to keep families together even though a member may be incarcerated. We are blessed to be a part of this ministry.
We had a record number of shoe boxes filled for the Samaritan’s Purse Shoe Box ministry. We delivered 229 boxes to the distribution hub. We are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful ministry.
We are well underway planning our Advent season worship which will start with a hanging of the greens on Sunday, December 2 with the focus of the service centered on hope. The December 9 service will focus on peace and we will have our Christmas open house directly after the worship service. On December 16 we focus on hope with December 23 being set aside for love. The advent season will conclude with our Christmas Eve candlelight service on December 24 starting at 6:00 pm. This is a wonderful time of year looking forward to the celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior and we extend an invitation to all to come and join us in this celebration.
Fairhope Christian Church will be participating in the annual Fairhope Christmas parade on Friday, December 7. It starts at 7:00 pm in downtown Fairhope. It is a family fun time and a great way to get the Advent season going.
Our third annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast was a success as we welcomed many veterans and offered them a free hot breakfast and a huge thank you for their dedicated and honorable service to our country. To see pictures of this event; http://Click here
Our rummage sale was a huge success and we thank all who came by and found some treasures. The funds raised will help our youth activities and events.
