Here you will find the latest happenings in the life of Fairhope Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

We welcome you to join us as we endeavor to make a positive difference in the lives of those we encounter.

In accordance with CDC and local government guidelines, Fairhope Christian Church has suspended all on site church activities.   We will continue to live stream our worship service and encourage all to view the service on our streaming page which can be accessed under the live stream tab on this website. With God’s help, we will make it through this uncertain and anxious time together. Our next service will be our Palm Sunday service which you will be able see via our live stream starting at 10:30 am.

We apologize, but the Three on a String concert has been cancelled due to the threat of the Covid-19 virus. After monitoring the situation and the CDC recommendations, it became clear that cancelling this concert was the prudent thing to do to help mitigate the spread of this virus. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you purchased tickets, please call the church office at 251-928-8495 and we will be happy to refund the ticket amount.

We are restarting our Knit and Stitch group which will meet on Monday’s at 10:00 am in the library. All who would like to knit or learn to knit are invited and welcomed.

We are in need of more prayer shawls as these are going out as fast as we can make them. Our knit and stitch will be working on more, but even if you don’t participate in the knit and stitch but can make a prayer shawl or two, it would be greatly appreciated. We are getting so many wonderful stories back about how much these shawls mean to those who receive them as well as those who present them.

Fairhope Christian Church will be participating in a Good Friday Service on Friday, April 10 starting at 6:30 pm. This will be preceded by a 12 hour prayer vigil starting at 6:00 am and ending at 6:00 pm. At the current time, we will participate in our own homes in accordance with CDC recommendations. This does not take away from the power of this prayer vigil as it is still a vital part of our Lenten journey. Please, even if you have not signed up, take a few moments during Good Friday to enter into prayer remembering the sacrifice Jesus has made as well as the promises of God to provide us with redemption, salvation and an eternal home that will be more glorious and wonderful than we could ever imagine. Join us and feel the power of God as we come together as one in prayer and thanksgiving.

Teen Challenge visited with us on Sunday, February 23 and we heard some very moving testimonies about how God has reclaimed and reformed lives of these wonderful young men. This is such a wonderful ministry and we are blessed to be able to support it. For more information about Teen Challenge, visit their website by clicking here.

Laity Sunday was a refreshing and uplifting service conducted by our membership. We thank all who participated and are very appreciative of you sharing your gifts with us.
